Town of Arena Board Minutes
October 7, 2013
PRESENT: Dave Lucey, John Wright, Bill Gauger, Cathy Acker, Minnie Gauger, Dave Meudt ,Kevin Paar
OTHERS: Alissa Austin, Steve Sauer, John Halverson, Sam Mahala
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Roll call was taken. All members present.
-Wright motioned to approve the minutes of September 9, 2013 meeting. Gauger seconded. Minutes approved. No discussion on minutes
Leslie: Wright motioned approval of 4
parcels, one of which will be C1
(Lot 4) of conservancy. Three AR1 sites will be accessed on one driveway on Sweeney Road. Land Division approved. This meets our town’s density. Re-zone from A1 to AR1 the 3 parcels (Lot 1, 2, 3) all with building sites. Gauger seconded. Motion carried. Wright, Schott, Schutte, and Schmidt viewed the driveway, and it was accepted. No driveway permit filed at this time.
-Steve Sauer: purchased property on Hwy 14 (Four Seasons). Plans on fixing up the building. Wants to build a 60 x 120 building. Small mound system now. Will be putting in a larger septic system. Needs to list the uses of the building,as excavating, landscaping, silo work. Now zoned as B3. Wants to discuss what he needs to do. Can he put colored rock, mulch etc in the front of the building. Needs to see how you are going to address parking, and a blueprint of where the building will be built. Will be on the agenda for the Plan Commission meeting October 28.
-Sam Mahala- Concerns on Valley Motors property. Junk vehicles need to be moved. 300 automobiles. The County is addressing these concerns. Lucey will follow-up on concerns.
-Alissa Austin- In home boarding and doggie daycare kennel. Advised to call county to see if she can zone AR1 with conditional use. Will be at the Plan Commission meeting October 28.
-Paar, Meudt: They are mowing. Gauger says that no township runs re-caps. If they run them low it will ruin the re-caps. New tires are ordered. Boom Mower is $60/hr rental. We should put 40 hours on it again this year. Hydraulic zones on tractor not working. Needs to be fixed. Phil Roberts will be trapping beaver on River Road. Road Ratings and Maintenance Treatment Reports etc. completed and will be sent to Craig Hardy at the County and WisDOT Madison. Lucey sent an application for TRIP funds for Roberts Road.
-Humane Society Contract discussion.- Gauger motioned that we will notify them that we will provide our own stray animal services next year. Wright seconded. Motion carried.
Wright motioned to accept the bills for payment. Gauger seconded. Motion carried.
