Present:  Cheryl Schmidt, Mark Hottmann, Rand Schott, Andrea Joo, David Lucey, John Wright, Bill Gauger, Cathy Acker

Others Present: Mary Lockman, Bill Buckeridge, Jim and Nick Winters, Don Bennett, Nick Jennings.


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.  Roll call was taken. Nelson, Schutte absent.  Schmidt moved to approve the minutes of the January 30, 2017 meeting. No meeting in February.  Schott seconded with approval of the change.  Minutes approved.


Winters:  Building and driveway permit-Roberts Rd.  There is a driveway in there. But it is a field road without driveway permit.  7.57 acres with building permit. Zoned AR-1.  Schmidt motions to approve building and driveway permit as long as they follow standards.  Schott seconded.  Motion carried.


Buckeridge:  Conditional Use permit for residence and indoor storage building.  50x90 storage building, and moving barn as single residence.  Wants to see plans etc before the house is moved.  This is from the February 29th, 2016 PC Meeting with requirements:  Buckeridge:  Wants a conditional use permit. Wants to put a residence (the barn) and a commercial storage building on acreage.  Property was split into two lots.  Wants to move the barn to the other lot as one residence. Zoning B2.  Commission would want personal property tax to the township caught up.  Mandatory things we need to see before we can give a conditional use permit.  We need the stairs done in the house.  Pay the property taxes.  A design plan with size for the storage building. Site Plan with Setbacks from property lines., location of driveway (DOT), location of septic system. Will update us at the next PC Meeting March 28th.

 Buckeridge will be at the next PC Meeting April 24, 2017. 


Nick Jennings/Hartung/Anding:  Moving an easement.  Wants the easement on the east side of the trees.  Can they move that easement.  Board will take no action on this.  No jurisdiction.


Animal Units Update in Section H Comprehensive Plan. 


Joo motions to approve the following in the Section H Comprehensive Plan,  Schmidt seconded.  Motion carried. 


.  AR-1 Agricultural Residential District


The intention of this district is to provide agricultural uses in a predominately residential area or on lots           that are not considered adequate to meet farm size.


Permitted Principal Uses:

      1.  One single-family residence is allowed per lot.

      2.  Accessory structures are allowed.

      3.  Household occupations are allowed.

      4. General farming, meaning cropping and pasturing, is allowed provided the following animal unit

          allowances are not exceeded:

Animal Unit


One Animal Unit shall be defined as being the equivalent of one dairy cow, steer, bull or horse over six months of age; two steers, calves or horses under six months of age; two pigs; two sheep; two goats; two llamas; or twenty-five fowl.  Other animal, fowl, or fish types shall be considered on an individual basis on specific application.



Public Comments:  Abandoned vehicles.
