TOWN OF ARENA PLAN COMMISSION

August 28, 2017

 

Present:  Cheryl Schmidt, Mark Hottmann, Andrea Joo, Ingmar Nelson, David Lucey, John Wright, Bill Gauger, Cathy Acker, Wayne Schutte.

Others Present: James Wenzler, Dean and Jan Swenson, Bill Buckeridge, Dick Peck, Mary Lockman,

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.  Roll call was taken. Rand Schott not present.  Schutte moved to approve the minutes of the July 31, 2017 meeting.   Joo seconded.  Minutes approved.

 

Buckeridge:  Will come to the next PC meeting after talking with the Building Inspector. Nelson motioned to approve a driveway based on DOT approved paperwork for access  to parcel across from Hecks Driveway or Lot 1 based on Survey Map 1046. Schmidt seconded.  Motion carried.     Paid $500  Driveway

 

Halverson – Not present.

 

Peck:  Home off Peck Road. Driveway, building, Land Division, re-zone to AR-1.  House will be 2300 sq feet.  5+ acres.    Land Division from 40 acres.  Rest of the 40 acres is non-buildable. Schmidt motioned to approve, land division, re-zone, driveway permit, building permit. Schutte seconded.  Motion carried.    Paid $2000. He is going to fill out paperwork for a Class A liquor license to sell Weggy Wine. 

 

Swenson – Old House falling down on High Point Rd..  If we take the house down, can we replace it.  They also have an old granary on our land.  Would like to fix it up for an office with plumbing. 

 

ATV/UTV Ordinance:  Draft written with the help of James Wenzler.  Discussion on enforcement, and possible problems.  Mr. Wenzler answered questions.  Town of Arena Ordinance 2017-001.  Schmidt motioned to approve Town of Arena Ordinance 2017-001 with changes as discussed.  Joo seconded.  Motioned approved.  Schutte opposed. 

 

Land density map was tabled.

 

Public Comment:  Notifying adjacent landowners when a building permit is requested.  We will discuss this at the next Plan Commission Meeting.

 

Schutte motioned to go into closed session.  Schmidt  seconded.  Motion carried.

Joo motioned to leave closed session.  Schutte seconded.  Motion carried.

 

Schutte motioned to adjourn.  Nelson  seconded.  Motion carried.
